Proportional means growing at the SAME rate.
Finding Different Proportional Relationships
Relationship 1: Top to Top EQUALS Bottom to Bottom (left to right OR right to left)
Remember: the relationship left to right and the relationship right to left are RECIPROCALS of each other. In example 1 above, the left to right relationship was x1/9 which means the right to left relationship must be x9 because 9 is the reciprocal of 1/9.

Relationship 2: Top to Bottom EQUALS Top to Bottom (and vice versa)
Remember: the relationship top to bottom and the relationship bottom to top are RECIPROCALS of each other. In example 2 above, the top to bottom relationship was x4 which means the bottom to top relationship must be x1/4 because 1/4 is the reciprocal of 4.
